Top chef brings a modern slice of Italy to Lincolnshire villagers

The Lincolnite is running a competition with Puccinis for two lucky people to win a meal

A top chef who has worked with Gordon Ramsay is hoping to bring a modern slice of Italian food to a Lincolnshire village.

Puccinis, based on Silver Street in Coningsby, has a new local man at the helm in Aaron Ashmore who has big plans for the restaurant.

The 28-year-old was a MasterChef semi-finalist in 2012 before going onto work at various Michelin star restaurants in London.

Now he has fulfilled his lifelong dream of opening his own restaurant and wants to bring “simple but tasty” food to the table in a relaxed atmosphere.

Aaron took over management of the restaurant in November after the previous owners renovated a former cafe into what is now Puccinis.

Aaron told The Lincolnite: “I think my training has given me the best of both worlds. I know how to make really high-quality food but I also know how to keep the prices low.

“We make the pasta, bread, and desserts all fresh on site. I also get all of the vegetables from a local shop around the corner and we get our meat from a farm 30 minutes away.”

The restaurant is open from 5pm to 9.30pm Tuesdays to Fridays. It’s also open from 12pm to 9.30pm on Saturday and 12pm to 4pm on Sundays.
