Police arrest man after pedestrian killed in Grimsby crash

Police have arrested a 31-year-old man after a crash in Grimsby killed a pedestrian over the weekend.

Update: A man has been named and charged in connection with the fatal crash.

Humberside Police attended Scartho Road on Saturday shortly after 11.50pm to reports that a man had been found in the street with serious injuries near a service station.

Emergency services attended and took the man to the hospital, where he sadly died.

The police believe that a red Ford Focus collided with the man, who was a pedestrian.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, he remains in custody whilst enquiries continue.

Officers are appealing for anyone that saw what happened or saw a red Ford Focus in the area to get in touch.

They would also like to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, as this may assist with our enquiries.
