Man dies after being hit by car near North Hykeham Asda

Police are appealing for witnesses

A 75-year-old man has died after being hit by a car as he was crossing a road near Asda in North Hykeham.

The collision happened on the stretch of Newark Road between St Aiden’s Road and the roundabout at 10.10pm on Saturday, January 11.

The man was crossing Newark Road towards the Asda side when he was involved in the collision with a Honda CR-V, which was travelling away from the supermarket towards the North Hykeham crossroads.

He was taken to hospital, but sadly died on Monday, January 20.

Lincolnshire Police said they attended the scene and have recorded details of those involved.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses who were in the area around the time of the collision and may have seen either the victim or the blue Honda.

Police also want to speak with anyone who was driving along that stretch of road from 10pm and has dashcam footage.
