Five arrested over weapons brawl in Barton

Extra police patrols have been put in place

Five men have been arrested after an alleged fight with weapons in Barton on Thursday evening.

Humberside Police received multiple reports of a group of men fighting in the Gravel Pit Road and the Falkland Way areas of Barton during the evening of Thursday, February 7. However, police were unable to clarify at this stage what weapons were used.

Officers were quickly in attendance before the five men were arrested nearby.

Police believe are all known to each other. All five men remain in custody at the time of writing, whilst police enquiries continue.

Extra patrols have been put in place in the area on Friday, February 7, although police said they don’t think there is currently any risk to the wider public.

Doug Blackwood, Detective Chief Inspector at Humberside Police, said: “We do believe that those involved are all known to each other and there is nothing to suggest that there is any risk to the wider public.

“There are extra patrols in the area today (February 7) both to carry out enquiries and to offer reassurance to the community.
