Lincoln village pizza takeaway handed low hygiene rating

The takeaway has mixed reviews on Google

A pizza takeaway in a village near Lincoln that is currently closed due to the coronavirus crisis has received its food hygiene inspection report, with a score of just one out of a possible five.

Cherry Pizza House, which is located on The Parade in Cherry Willingham, was visited by inspectors from West Lindsey District Council on February 20, 2020. A rating of ‘One’ has since been given, which was published this week.

Although it was rated as generally satisfactory for ‘Hygienic food handling’ and ‘Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building’, inspectors deemed that there was major improvement necessary in the ‘Management of food safety’.

The takeaway is currently closed and a notice on its website states: “Due to the current circumstances with COVID-19, we have decided to close during the period of government restrictions.

“We will be back open on Wednesday, April 15. We look forward to serving you when we re-open and we hope that you all stay safe during this difficult time.”

The takeaway previously held a rating of ‘Five’ after an inspection in May 2014. It then dropped down to a score of ‘Three’ after an inspection in August 2017, before recently falling to a lower rating.

Cherry Pizza House has a mixture of good and bad reviews on Google with an overall rating of three stars.

The Lincolnite tried to contact the takeaway via email and telephone for a response, but there was no reply by the time of publication.
