Firefighters tackle Lincoln village bin lorry blaze

Be careful what you are putting in your bins!

A bin lorry caught fire in Witham St Hughs, with firefighters called on to resolve the situation.

A loud explosion was heard near to the village hall before the lorry started to emit masses of smoke and eventually catch fire at the back.

It is as yet uncertain what caused the blaze but the situation was resolved quickly by the fire brigade and nobody was hurt.

Onlookers took it as a timely warning that people need to be careful with what they are putting in the bin.
