Lincolnshire community hospitals send staff home with coronavirus symptoms

Every infection prevention precaution is being taken

Several members of staff working at community hospitals in Lincolnshire have been sent home with COVID-19 related symptoms.

The Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) is the primary community healthcare provider in the county and runs facilities in Louth, Skegness, Gainsborough and Pinchbeck.

The Trust is taking every prevention precaution possible, but the exact number of staff with symptoms has not yet been disclosed. When asked which of the hospitals staff were sent home from, the trust did not comment.

An LCHS spokesperson said: “We can confirm that several members of staff working at our community hospitals have been sent home with COVID-19 related symptoms.

“Every infection prevention precaution is being taken and staff caring for patients are trained and equipped to do so safely.

“Everyone has a role to play in helping to prevent the spread of infection.”

Last month, the trust made the decision to suspend visiting arrangements with immediate effect at County Hospital in Louth, Skegness Hospital, John Coupland Hospital in Gainsborough, and the Johnson Community Hospital in Pinchbeck.
