Men released as cordon lifted at Lincoln house where assault happened

Man in his 60s suffered a head injury

Two men have been released as police continue their investigations into an incident at a Lincoln home where a man in his 60s was found with a serious head injury.

As previously reported, the man was found on Riseholme Road in Lincoln soon after midnight on Thursday and blood was also seen splattered on the path.

A police cordon was then put in place on Queen Elizabeth Road and forensics were seen swabbing for evidence at the scene.

Two men, age 44 and 47, were arrested in connection with the incident before the cordon was lifted later on Thursday night.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police confirmed to The Lincolnite that the 47-year-old man has since been released on bail and the 44-year-old was released under investigation.

Investigations are ongoing into the incident and police are still appealing for witnesses.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen this man, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at around the time of the incident.
