Beetlemania: KFC investigates Lincoln beetle bun gate

KFC’s response to the claims channel a 1960s band

“Paul McCartney stand down… this is a sesame seed and not a beetle, so Let It Be”, said fried chicken company KFC after it probed an allegedly ‘bug filled’ burger bun in Lincoln.

A KFC store in Lincoln has investigated after a customer’s allegations that ‘bugs’ were found in her burger bun went viral.

In the initial complaint, the customer found black objects in the bread. She claimed that they were ‘insects’ on social media and the post was seen and shared by scores of people.

The team at the Nettleham Road restaurant obtained the bun after the complaint to test it, and confirmed that no beetle was found.

The lighthearted statement released by a member of staff will be music to people’s ears.

Fear not, it looks like KFC is still a safe option for you to eat after re-opening through lockdown.
