Hooch pooch joins Lincoln prison drug bust team

Arthur is one very good boi

By Local Democracy Reporter

There’s a new recruit at Lincoln prison, and he’s hoping to sniff out crime.

As well as being impossibly cute, Arthur is HMP Lincoln’s latest junior prison dog officer.

He has been brought in as a sniffer dog to find any drugs or alcohol hidden in jail cells.

Arthur will one day hope to reach the level of Homer, the prison’s senior dog officer.

Homer is a ‘drug and hooch’ dog that goes into cells to try and sniff out any illicit activity.

Here he is with a batch of homemade alcohol, or hooch, he found last month.

The dogs are there to help keep staff, prisoners and visitors safe and away from any potential threat of drug or alcohol smuggling.
