Mystery over death of cyclist near Wragby

Police are appealing for witnesses

A 49-year-old cyclist who died near Wragby on Monday evening has been named by police, but it’s unclear for now what actually happened.

Officers were called to a report of an injured cyclist near Apley Manor, Apley, near Wragby at around 5.45pm on Monday, June 15.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and he has since been named as Christopher Taylor.

A man driving a crop sprayer, who was in the area at the time, attempted first aid on the man.

Police are appealing for witnesses that may have seen the cyclist in Apley village or the surrounding villages before the incident was reported.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the crop sprayer vehicle or any other vehicles in the area around the time of the incident or beforehand.
