New Tesco Express to open on Brayford Pool

A new Tesco Express store will open on the ground floor of the One The Brayford development on Brayford Pool.

The supermarket chain has taken a ten year lease on the property situated on the north side of the Brayford, underneath the residential development and neighbouring the DoubleTree by Hilton.

Contractors will be appointed in the near future to begin the store’s fit out.

Planning applications for Tesco’s new shop frontage and signs have already been approved by City of Lincoln Council.

Only three out of 100 apartments are now available in One The Brayford’s residential scheme. The arrival of Tesco also means that only two large neighbouring commercial units remain unoccupied.

Simon Grace, from J&J Developments and One The Brayford director, said: “It’s great to see Tesco commit to the development. Hopefully this will act as a catalyst for the remaining two units.

“The location is prime, opposite the university campus, a short walk to Lincoln’s main High Street and close to leading national chains such as Wagamama, Nando’s and Ask.

“We’re happy to announce some positive news as everybody pushes to get back to work since the outbreak of COVID-19.”
