Eco grocery store opens in Lincoln market

A new low waste stall at the market

By Local Democracy Reporter

A new eco-friendly stall has started trading inside Lincoln Central Market, and the owners are “delighted” with the response so far.

Nikki Goldblatt and her daughter Katie have opened Forage & Fill, a family-run eco shop that prides itself on low waste products.

Forage & Fill sells a wide variety of organic foods, household items and health & beauty products.

As part of its environmental push to go plastic-free, the shop offers customers the chance to bring their old tubs or containers and refill them with whatever washing liquids they may need.

The stall opened on July 1 and Nikki told The Lincolnite about the “very positive” feedback she has received so far.

“We weren’t expecting to be as busy as we are, it’s fantastic to see the response we are getting.

“Lincoln feels like it has been crying out for a place like this for a while, we’re so happy to get going.”

Due to coronavirus, the stall has had to implement certain safety measures due to its small size.

Customers will be asked to use the hand sanitiser at the front of the counter on arrival, and the shop will not be self-service just yet.

Staff are encouraging people to ask for what they want as window shoppers, to allow for staff to serve for the time being.

Forage & Fill operates on a cash-free basis, only accepting card payments to try and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
