By Local Democracy Reporter

Lincolnshire Co-op’s Gainsborough travel branch and post office will move to make way for cinema and retail units.

The stores will be moving to Market Street from the Lindsey Centre, which is in the process of a planning application to be transformed.

The travel branch will be the first to relocate, going to its new site on Tuesday, July 14, with the post office moving on Wednesday, July 22.

Travel customers will be able to make appointments in branch or via video call, and the post office will be revamped with social distancing measures in place.

The post office will close at the Lindsey Centre on Thursday, July 16, and will have new opening hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm on Monday, 9am to 5.30pm on Tuesday to Friday, and 9am until 2pm on Saturdays.

Meanwhile, the travel branch will be open from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday, apart from Wednesdays when it will open 45 minutes later.

Gainsborough travel manager Jo Sims said: “We’re excited about the move to Market Street and can’t wait to help holidaymakers find their dream destination.

“We hope to attract new customers who are eager to explore what Lincolnshire Co-op travel is all about.”

Post office manager Ben Edge said: “The team are looking forward to welcoming customers to our new outlet as we continue to provide a valued service for the town.”
