Work completed on new £6.3m Market Rasen leisure centre

It was designed and built in just over a year

The construction of a new two-storey £6.3 million leisure centre in Market Rasen was recently completed after being designed and built in just over a year.

Work began on the 18,300 square foot facility on Gainsborough Road last summer. It will feature 40 pieces of Technogym cardio and strength equipment, while a modern spin studio will include 15 Kaiser cycling bikes.

There is a 7,400 square foot sports hall and an external 3G all-weather pitch. There will also be space and connectivity to allow instructors to deliver virtual classes.

However, indoor gyms and sports venues/facilities were among those told by the government that they cannot reopen on July 4 unlike some other industries.

Councillor Giles McNeill, Leader of West Lindsey District Council, added: “I am delighted that the new West Lindsey Leisure Centre in Market Rasen has been completed by Morgan Sindall Construction, on time and on budget.

“Our partnership means that the people of Market Rasen and the surrounding area will benefit from a first-rate, brand new facility.”

The leisure centre was designed by CPMG Architects and will be operated by Everyone Active
