Freshers’ week programme announced

By Local Democracy Reporter

Escape rooms, roller discos and a comedy show from Russell Kane are just some of the events for Lincoln freshers week this year.

The University of Lincoln has teamed up with the Students’ Union to arrange a week of live events for students to attend.

Comedian Russell Kane will be performing a double show at the Engine Shed on October 12, with tickets costing £15.

As well as this, freshers can book tickets for events like quizzes, crazy golf and an open air cinema.

A ‘lock-in’ at the Tower Bar will take place on October 14, allowing students to enjoy special drinks deals and watch England vs Denmark.

Various walking and bike tours will also be offered to freshers who may want to discover Lincoln and see the sights.

Events will cost the following:

  • Russell Kane and support live at your SU: from £15
  • Discover your Lincoln (bike ride): from £5
  • The Big Quiz: from £1
  • Discover your Lincoln (walking tour): free
  • Table Top Escape Room: from £7.50
  • Retro Gaming in the Platform: free
  • Roller Disco: from £6
  • Open Air Cinema: from £5
  • Street Food Market: free
  • Quazy Golf: from £5
  • Towers Lock-in: free

Previous years have seen the likes of Greg James, Scott Mills, Professor Green and Lee Nelson appear for events, but the SU has had to change procedures due to COVID-19.

All events will comply with social distancing regulations, and people will not be allowed to book tickets for more than six people to allow for social bubbles to be maintained.

Check the Lincoln SU website for the full welcome week schedule and to buy tickets.
