The number of older people who are catching coronavirus has increased over the last week.
Rates amongst schoolchildren have fallen over the half term holidays.
However, North East Lincolnshire Council says it has noticed an increase in people aged 21 to 60, where there had previously been fewer cases.
There is also ‘particular concern’ about growing cases amongst the elderly.
It comes as two more Covid-related deaths have been announced in northern Lincolnshire’s hospitals, taking the death toll to 514.
The latest epidemiology report published by North East Lincolnshire Council shows how coronavirus is spreading to older age groups.
“Since October 14 2021, there were 1,389 new cases of COVID-19 in North East Lincolnshire,” it says.
“Whilst the majority of cases remain in those aged 20 and under, there has been a large increase in the working age population (21 to 60 year olds) and in the 61-80 population which is of particular concern as this age group is at high risk for hospitalisation.
“Since the return of children to schools at the beginning of September, rates in the youngest age groups rose and for school age children the rates remained very high throughout September and into October.
“In the most recent week, there has been a reduction in case rates in children under the age of 17, probably at least in part associated with half term holidays, but an increase in cases in all other age groups.”
Since October 14, there were 512 confirmed cases amongst under 20s, the majority of which were secondary school pupils.
283 people aged 21 to 40 also tested positive.
396 new cases were found in 41 to 60-year-olds.
Amongst 61 to 80 year olds, there were 172 new Covid cases, along with 27 in people older than that.
More females than males are also testing positive in every age group under 60, sometimes by large margins.
There are 12 cases across four care homes.
There were 27 patients with Covid in Grimsby hospital as of Wednesday morning, of which one person was in ICU.
