“Victory for passengers”: Lincolnshire MPs welcome rail ticket office U-turn

Hundreds were set to close across the country, but that has now been scrapped

A reversal on plans to close hundreds of railway ticket offices in England, including several in Greater Lincolnshire, has been welcomed by local MPs, after public consultation saw overwhelming opposition to the proposals.

The Rail Delivery Group’s proposals to close almost all of the country’s train station ticket offices proved a controversial one and was wholly rejected during a public consultation period.
