Sleaford speaks out: Residents urge council to rethink £1m Market Place revamp

From historians to business owners, Sleaford’s voices unite to question the council’s vision for their beloved market

Sleaford residents have called on North Kesteven District Council to halt ambitious £1 million plans to transform the beloved Market Place into a communal hub and return to the drawing board.

The council’s vision aims to replace car park spaces with paving, mood lighting, and seating areas in a bid to create a vibrant public space that celebrates the town’s culture and history. Plus, local cafes could benefit from extra outdoor seating. However, the plans, which are recommended for approval at a planning meeting next week, have received more than 100 objections.
