Lincoln Santa Fun Run, Walk & Doggy Dash

Festive fun run: Some 2,200 people took part in the Danwood Lincoln Santa Fun Run, some with their children, babies in prams, dogs on leads, or both — all donning Santa outfits.

Some 2,200 people took part in the Danwood Lincoln Santa Fun Run and Walk on December 15.

Alongside Jerry Green Dog Rescue, this year’s event also offered dogs their own starting line in the Doggy Dash.

The event organised by Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia raised money for charities including Alzheimer’s Society, British Heart Foundation, Candles, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Samaritans, and St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire.

The runners set off from Lincoln Castle for two laps totalling 3km, finishing back at the Castle, where they were awarded medals.

Donning Santa suits, people took with them children, babies in prams, and dogs on leads.

The winner of the fun run was Alan Oliver, in just under 12 minutes.
