    Description

    As our Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, you will ensure that the marketing and communications work we are commissioned to undertake is delivered to the highest possible standards and delivered on time and budget. Your role is to champion best practice and ensure that what we design, and deliver is innovative and makes a positive difference.

    You will head up a team of passionate marketing and communications professionals and be responsible for developing and delivering marketing campaigns and strategies for our clients – the kind that make people feel good and solve important issues. It is a varied role that includes planning, advertising, public relations, event organisation, product development, distribution, sponsorship and research.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Design/ write creative and imaginative (and cost effective) marketing strategies and plans for our clients, adopting evidenced based best practice and innovation in marketing/ communication
    • Manage a small team of marketing and communications professionals including: Campaign Manager, PR and Copywriter and Social Media Manager; scheduling team work
    • Ensure marketing strategies and plans are implemented and delivered on time and to budget; leading and directing the wider marketing and communications team to deliver your detailed marketing plans for all relevant channels
    • Work closely with the Account Manager to ensure our retainer clients are satisfied with the outputs from the marketing and communications team
    • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered to the expected standard and the outputs from the marketing and communications team help deliver the outcomes expected by the client
    • Champion and use research and data analysis to inform marketing strategies and plans and determine the metrics for success
    • Act as our senior leader for media and PR/communications, providing direction and leadership on media relations and PR activity
    • Approve and sign off all marketing and communication team outputs [quality assurance]
    • Provide constructive feedback on marketing and communications work to the team and support them to develop capability and competence, providing training and development opportunities and helping our marketing and communications team to learn and grow
    • Identify marketing metrics and evaluate marketing and PR/ Communications campaigns; producing dashboards and reports to demonstrate the impact of marketing and communications; and tracking the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, creating detailed written reports and verbal presentations and adjusting activity/campaigns/plans in response
    • Cover the duties and responsibilities of your team when colleagues are on leave
    • Communicate and work with various suppliers and negotiate costs/process with media buyers, printers, and other services to help marketing projects come to fruition
    • Provides in-depth information to interested and prospect clients, and act as a representative for the company
    • Working with the Growth team, contribute to the writing of marketing bids and respond to briefs, pricing up marketing and communications work; and attend client meetings and pitches with the aim of bringing more clients to the business
    • Liaise and network with a range of stakeholders including clients, colleagues, suppliers and partner organisations, attend meetings and be the face of the marketing and communications delivery team
    • Write and proofread copy (online, press releases, magazines, brochures, leaflets)
    • Organise and attends events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions and represent the organisation
    • Work closely with the research team to conduct research, for example, using customer questionnaires and focus groups and evaluating marketing campaigns and activities
