You may be just who we are looking for, because the Council now has an exciting Technical Officer position available for someone with experience in health & safety and specifically asbestos and/or fire to join the Safety Assurance Team working within the Directorate of Housing & Regeneration. With over 7500 housing properties across the city, by joining the City of Lincoln Council, you know that your efforts will be making a real difference to a vast and expanding population.
No two days are the same as a Technical Officer, with the key areas you can expect to work in including:
- Asbestos management to include surveying, sampling, licensed asbestos removal contractor monitoring, incident investigations
- Management of fire safety arrangements to include reviewing and where appropriate carrying out fire risk assessments, fire investigations.
Not only are we looking for an enthusiastic individual, with excellent organisational skills, the ability to ensure target deadlines are met, and being able to comfortably work under your own initiative, but you must also fulfil the following essential criteria:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and/or NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
- P402 asbestos surveying and bulk sampling (or equivalent) o r fire risk assessor training and certification
