The Tokyo Lincoln club is on the brink of opening after a £1.5 million makeover of the Constitutional Club on Silver Street.

The 900-capacity club opens Friday, August 26, after 15 years of the Grade II listed building standing derelict.

Aaron Mellor, Managing director of Tokyo Lincoln, said: “I fell in love with this building the first time I was introduced to it.

“We’ve added the best, bespoke, state-of-the-art sound system from Funktion One — the system looks as good as it sounds, standing 8ft tall it looks a sonic assault weapon.

“There’s a new skyjack roof terrace and we’ve worked hard to deliver a weekly diary that delivers both musically on upfront, visiting talent and accessible resident nights.”

Local star DJs Jaymo and Andy George and their team of Moda DJs are set to play on opening night and will have a regular residency on the last Friday of every month.

Jaymo and Andy said: “As DJ’s we’re lucky enough to have travelled all over, playing in the best venues the world has to offer.

“But we can honestly say we are seriously hyped about this amazing new spot. For the opening night our good friend and all round superstar Calvin Harris will head-up proceedings.

“And for the first time in Moda history, every single member of the crew (Jaymo & Andy George, Tom Staar, Toy Tigers) will all be playing on the same bill.”

Joseph’s Café Bar inside the Lincoln Drill Hall has been through a makeover that brought in a new platter menu and wine list.

In an attempt to encourage social eating for Lincoln’s after-work crowd, Joseph’s Café Bar is now serving themed platters ranging from Tapas and Italian to a dessert platter, every evening from 5:30pm.

The platters can be paired up with wine from local supplier Steep Hill Wines.

Kara Moore, operations manager of Dimensions Community Enterprises, the company that runs Joseph’s Café Bar, said:

“Having been involved with Joseph’s at the Drill Hall for over a year now, we wanted to create an environment that was attractive to everybody.

“Whether they are looking for somewhere to meet friends for great wine and food to share, or are attending a show and want a light pre-show snack – then Joseph’s is the ideal venue. All the food is homemade and deliciously different,” Moore added.
