Mayor to step down with a bang

Drawing to a close: Lincoln Mayor David Gratrick is preparing one final charity event called “The Final Curtain”, to wrap up his year in the grand function.

Lincoln Mayor, Councillor David Gratrick (pictured), is set to stage one final charity event on May 8th at the Assembly Rooms, in advance of his final weeks in the function.

The event, dubbed The Final Curtain, will feature songs from stage and screen, performed by vocalists Just Us and The Lincolnshire Fire. The big band sound will be given by the Rescue Concert Band.

Tickets for The Final Curtain are priced at £15, and include a hot buffet supper. The proceedings from this fee will go towards the Mayor’s charity appeal, which this year is the Lincoln Cathedral Music Fund.

Gratrick is happy with his year in function: “I’ve had a wonderful year as Mayor, and have particularly enjoyed seeing some of the incredible work that goes on in the city to help people who are disadvantaged in some way.”

The Final Curtain is a chance to look back on the past year. It promises to be highly entertaining and will be raising money for charity, so it will be a good send off,” Gratrick cheerfully added.
