Police searching for city centre bike thief

Pushed away: Police are appealing for witnesses after an expensive bicycle was stolen from the High Street.

Lincolnshire Police are looking for information after bicycle was stolen in broad daylight on Lincoln’s High Street on August 23.

CCTV footage has shown a man approaching the bike at 1.40pm, while the High Street was busy. He then cut the bike lock with a set of bolt cutters and rode away on his own bike, with the stolen bike beside him.

The footage shows various people passing who are all possible witnesses so police are appealing for anyone who noticed the crime to come forward.

The bike is a grey coloured Terrago Giant that was attached with a bike lock against a railing outside Benedict Church, Benedict Square (opposite Lloyds TSB bank). The stolen bike was a from an expensive, high value range.
