Car thieves cornered in city supermarket

Car theft: Three potential thieves ran into Tesco after a long car chase.

Suspected car thieves on the run from Humberside Police were finally arrested in a supermarket in Lincoln on Christmas Eve.

The three potential thieves had been chased by Humberside Police from Immingham, where it is believed they stole the silver BMW getaway vehicle.

At around 2pm on December 24, the men stopped the car in Tesco Wragby Road’s car park and ran inside.

A police helicopter could also be seen circling around the supermarket area.

Two of the men were arrested in the store, but the third is yet to be found. Tesco continued to trade as normal throughout the ordeal.
