Masked burglars threatened violence

Group burglaries: A group of men are being searched for by Lincolnshire Police over two burglaries.

Police are appealing for information after two burglaries in the city this week.

Just after 11pm on December 14, police received a report of four local-sounding men trying to break into a house on St Catherine’s Grove (pictured).

Shortly after, a second forced entry incident on Manby Street was sent to the police. Jewellery and a brown handbag were taken.

In both cases, violence was threatened but not used and the men used scarves or masks to hide their faces.

Police believe both the incidents involved the same offenders.

Investigating Officer Detective Sergent Jane Aves said: “It’s imperative that we trace those responsible and we are urging residents to come forward with any information that will help us do this.

“We are interested in hearing from anyone who saw the silver car that was reported to have made off at speed from both these incidents in one case hitting another car in the process.”

Residents with any information on the incidents should call Lincolnshire Police on 0300 111 0300.
