New gynae doctor for city hospital

New doctor: Dr Maisa Salman is a new gynaecology doctor for Lincoln County Hospital.

Female patients with gynaecological problems can now turn to a new doctor at Lincoln County Hospital.

Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr Maisa Salman specialises in female sexual dysfunction, urinary incontinence and childbirth-related injuries.

Dr Salman said: “I aim to help in overcoming the social stigma accompanying urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and sexual dysfunction amongst women today, through education and the provision of high quality medical and surgical intervention.

“Working closely with colleagues, I aim to further develop the hospital’s excellent reputation for delivering high quality patient-centered care to women.”

She studied obstetrics and gynaecology in Baghdad, moving to the UK to work in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2008.

As a postgraduate, she did the latter half of her training in Lincoln County Hospital. She also studied urogynaecology and benign vaginal surgery in Nottingham.
