Dragons challenge local school pupils

New entrepreneurs: School pupils are being invited to take part in a future series of Dragon’s Den.

Popular TV series Dragons’ Den will be visiting Lincoln in order to find and inspire young entrepreneurs for new episodes.

The Dragons — Theo Paphittis, Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Duncan Bannatyne and new Dragon Hilary Devey — will set a business challenge for Year 10 pupils.

Pupils will then have to work as a team to produce a business idea by mid June, when they will face some of the country’s biggest entrepreneurs in the Den.

Instead of finding out after their pitch like usual contestants, the pupils will have to wait until July 11 and watch a screening to find out if they passed.

They will then be given an award for the best idea and best pitch.

Executive Producer of Dragons’ Den Sam Lewens said: “The Dragons’ Den production team are all very excited at seeing what the next generation of entrepreneurs can produce, and helping them cope with the pressure of presenting to five of the UK’s most successful business people.”
