ITV film new drama at Lincoln Castle

Court drama: ITV’s The Jury drama filmed in Lincoln for the series set to begin this autumn.

ITV have been filming one of their latest dramas in Lincoln.

Camera crews and the cast for the courtroom drama The Jury were filming scenes at Lincoln Castle on Wednesday, May 25.

The Jury is a new five-part series which stars Julie Walters and written by BAFTA award winner Peter Morgan.

Walters plays a defence barrister who is determined to free a man convicted for the murder of three women he met on the internet.

Filming for the television series has been going on throughout March, April and May and has mostly been in and around London, but Lincoln was used for some shots on May 25.

An ITV spokesperson said: “Lincoln Castle Prison was chosen for filming because it’s so unique and exactly what we’ve been looking for.

“The majority of filming for The Jury has been in London, so the cast and crew have really enjoyed spending two days in Lincoln. It’s a beautiful city and the people have been very welcoming.”

The series is due to go out on ITV1 during the autumn with all five episodes to be aired in one week.
