Local clubs can play volleyball at Castle

Play ball: County schools and sports club have a unique chance to play volleyball at Lincoln Castle.

Schools and sports clubs in Lincolnshire are invited to play volleyball at Lincoln Castle next week as part of a festival.

The Let’s Play Volleyball festival is a national event hosted by Volleyball England, and is a competition for children aged 11-15.

The Lincoln Castle tournament takes place on May 29 from 10.30am, finishing at 3.30pm.

Teams will be split into three age groups; under 12, under 14 and under 16. U12 will be a two-a-side format, U14 three-a-side and U16 four-a-side.

National Development Director for Volleyball England and Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Sports Partnership Janet Inman said:

“The competition at Lincoln Castle is the only festival event in the East Midlands, so it’s fantastic to host the event in Lincoln, and at such a great location.

“Let’s Play Volleyball is all about getting more young people taking part in sport, and I would encourage schools, clubs and individuals to get together and enter a team. It should be a great day, in a great location.”

Entry prices for each team are £5.00 for U12, £7.50 for U14 and £10.00 for U16. The registration deadline is May 25.
