The new DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel has received over 300 job applications, despite not being ready until November and little post advertising.
The hotel, being developed by Brayford Hotels, will be creating at least 70 jobs in Lincoln. From the applications, it will now select people to interview.
As well as waiting and bar staff, the hotel is looking for a Financial Controller, Lounge Manager, Restaurant Manager and Events Manager.
Last month, the hotel on Brayford Wharf North hired its first employees: General Manager Philip Walker and Sales and Marketing Manager Nicola Shepheard.
Philip said: “The only adverts Brayford Hotels placed were for my job and for Head Chef which received 60 applications alone.
“We’ve been inundated with CVs, however, including over 80 from students at the University of Lincoln looking for part-time work to help fund their studies.
“Although previous experience of the service industry would be ideal we’re looking for candidates with the right personality who can help us to maintain the exceptionally high standards the Hilton brand has become famous for.
“It’s an exciting time as the hotel is really starting to take shape and we’ve already received a lot of enquiries from individuals and companies wanting to make a booking.”
The four-star hotel will offer 115 rooms once complete, as well as more than 500 square metres of meeting and events space, a gym, and a rooftop bar and restaurant.
17 rooms will even have balconies, overlooking the Brayford Pool or Lincoln Cathedral.
The most interesting feature however will be the transparent panoramic feature lift, which will allow guests to view the south of the city as they climb the floors.
