Police arrest handbag snatching suspects

Handbag thefts: Police arrested two men in relation to three handbag thefts in Lincoln.

Police have made two arrests after three handbag snatches in Lincoln.

Officers were called to Robey Street in the early hours of Saturday, September 3, after reports that a 19-year-old woman had been knocked to the ground and her handbag had been taken.

Officers searched the area and arrested a 22-year-old local man and a 23-year-old local man.

The suspects are also helping police with their enquires in relation to another handbag snatch in Moorland Avenue on the same morning, involving a 62-year-old woman and a further offence in Hall Drive on September 1 involving a 59-year-old woman.

Both men have been released on bail pending further enquires until dates later this month.
