Lincolnites queue for iPhone 4S

iPhone frenzy: The Lincolnite takes a look at city stock levels for the current most sought after new smartphone.

Lincolnites are queuing up around the city centre in the hope of picking up Apple’s latest smartphone on launch day.

Apple released its new mobile phone model, the iPhone 4S, on October 14, after allowing pre-orders from October 7.

All network providers carry the iPhone, so shops across Lincoln have been stocking up as well as taking pre-orders, expecting a rush on launch day.

Demand has been so high in America that Apple and resellers ran out of stock. This has not been the case in the UK.

The iPhone 4S has an 8 megapixel camera, dual core processor and an intelligent voice command app called Siri.

They are available in black and white and have a choice of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB memory.

While the iPhone 4S is available in Lincoln, the stock is tight.

Dozens queued outside O2’s Waterside mall store to get the new device.
