New Showground director in county agriculture boost bid

New direction: The new director of Lincolnshire Events Centre hopes to raise awareness about the venue as well as agriculture in the county.

Under new leadership, the Lincolnshire Events Centre will be heading in a new direction, boosting its focus on farming and rural life.

The new Director, Jayne Southall, will also be Director of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS), which owns the centre just outside Lincoln.

Southall hopes to grow the general public’s interest in agriculture as well as making people more aware of the facilities that are on offer at the Showground.

She said: “We’re keen to be a part of the community and build relationships with and support organisations who share similar aims to the charitable aims of the LAS.”

Chairman of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, John Lockwood, is confident in Southall’s ability to take both the LAS and Events Centre forward.

“No-one knows the business better than Jayne and her outstanding management of the Society’s accounts in recent years has given her a great insight into the business,” said Lockwood.

Southall has worked at the Showground for over five years already, previously being Finance Director.
