A flashmob in Lincoln encouraged surprised shoppers to collect their tickets for the Olympic Torch party in the city on June 27.
As previously reported, tickets for Lincoln’s Olympic celebration at Yarborough Leisure Centre went on sale on Thursday, May 10.
Already, over 2,000 tickets out of 10,000 have been booked. The first thousand was booked by midday, and the second by 3pm.
To encourage take-up of the tickets, a flashmob took place on Lincoln High Street at around 12.30pm.
It featured a number of drummers, dancers and even free runners from the dance and gymnastic show called One World.
The flashmob proceeded to walk along the High Street to the Drill Hall, where tickets are being sold (as well as online).
Lee Gretton, a Lincoln composer and producer at In Production Music, led the procession of local musicians and dancers.
