Lincoln firm mowing on up to new premises

From a conservatory in the back garden, a Lincoln-based firm has now relocated to a brand new office and showroom in North Hykeham.

Mower Magic is an online supplier of garden power equipment, now based at Magic House off Station Road, where it is currently developing a new showroom and customer services area.

John Hall and his brother, Jez are managing directors at the firm, previously located on Westminster Road in North Hykeham.

John said: “We started out with just £800 in Jez’s conservatory back in 2002, and now, ten years on, we employ a team of eight and have these fantastic new premises, all without borrowing any money from the bank.

“We have seen a steady growth over the last 10 years, moving on from being based at home, then to a log cabin, then a small unit and now, eventually, a large factory with approx 1000qm floor space.”

“We live and breathe the business,” John added. “My background in garden machinery and Jez’s in IT just seemed the perfect fit for Mower Magic.”

The team does have plans for the future, as Jez explained: “Becoming the UK distributor for Robomow back in 2007 was a good move for us and we’re looking at new products that we can stock in the future.

“The economic climate means that we have seen a change in our business. Customers aren’t buying as many new products, but they want somewhere to get all their spare parts and a place that offers a good standard of aftercare. We pride ourselves on doing both well.”
