Man assaulted by group of men in Lincoln

Serious assault: Police are investigating after a man was assaulted by a group of men, believed to have a knife.

Lincolnshire Police are appealing for information after an assault around Foss Bank and Charlesworth Street in Lincoln, at around 9.30pm on November 26, meaning a junction was cordoned off for investigations.

A 28-year-old local man was walking from Foss Bank along the river with a woman when he was assaulted by a group of men.

The assult led to a number of cuts, which are believed to have been inflicted by a knife. He was taken to Lincoln County Hospital for cuts, but he has since been discharged.

Officers attended the scene and closed it off during the evening investigations.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident, and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
