Accolade for Lincoln motoring blogger

Passionate about motors: A Lincoln motoring writer and blogger has been recognised at a national awards ceremony.

A Lincoln motoring writer and blogger has been recognised at a national awards ceremony.

Keith Jones (36) was selected as the inaugural winner of the Guild of Motoring Writers Breakthrough Blogger Award, sponsored by Seat.

The awards are meant to formally recognise the growing influence of motoring bloggers on the automobile industry.

Keith passion for motoring writing runs alongside his job as Head of Sixth Form at Lincoln Castle Academy for the past five years.

Confirming his own car-geek status, Keith has a personal library of over 30,000 items of automotive literature including car books, magazines and sales brochures.

Keith said: “Being able to combine my passion for all things automotive and my love of writing is a perfect creative outlet for me and the Breakthrough Blogger Award is a fantastic recognition of what I have to offer. It will help cement my reputation, gain further recognition for my work and open more doors of opportunity as I move towards writing as a career.”

Richard Aucock, Chair of the Guild of Motoring Writers, added: “The judges felt Keith demonstrated the power of blogging by using the platform and all its associated tools in innovative, clever and highly effective ways.

“Crucially though, he also writes extremely well: combine the two and you have a very deserving Breakthrough Blogger winner, one who we are confident will demonstrate a broad array of talents to any editors and publishers who may potentially employ him in the future – and indeed, in doing so, help him break through.”
