Driver dies after minibus hits cars and pedestrian

Multiple crash: A man has died after the minibus he was driving left the road and collided with several vehicles and also hit a pedestrian in Metheringham, near Lincoln.

A man has died after the minibus he was driving left the road and collided with several vehicles and also hit a pedestrian in Metheringham, near Lincoln.

The incident took place at around 9.20am on Monday morning on Metheringham High Street, between Lincoln Road and Princes Street.

Initial investigations indicate a minibus left the road and collided with other vehicles and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.

The male driver of the minibus died in hospital a short time later. Investigations are ongoing, but it is thought he may have been taken ill at the wheel. No one else was hurt.

Details of the driver and pedestrian have not been released yet.

Anyone who witnessed the vehicle leave the road, or who may have any information on the incident are asked to call Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 83 of February 4.
