One month footway works to begin on Mint Street

Pedestrians diverted: Works lasting four weeks will begin in August to improve the footway on Mint Street in Lincoln.

Works lasting four weeks will begin on Monday, August 11, to improve the footway on Mint Street in Lincoln.

The concrete slabs will be replaced, and some kerbs will be altered.

The works will run from the junction of Mint Street and Mint Lane along to the High Street.

Most of the work will be done overnight, from 7pm – 6am, with Mint Street being closed during this time.

The footway works in the vicinity of the lay-by will be done during the day with pedestrians diverted via Guildhall Street.

The lay-by will be closed during the day-time works, but the road will remain open to traffic.

Dave Chetwynd, Principal Engineer at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “These improvements are long overdue and will improve the look and durability of the footway.

“We will make every effort to reduce the disruption to pedestrians and motorists and thank the public in advance for their cooperation and understanding.”
