Police host advice events after Lincoln cycle crimes

Cycle security: Lincolnshire Police are offering cycle security advice and products after a burglary spike in the Lincoln area.

Cyclists in the south of Lincoln and North Hykeham will be able to gain security advice and discounted bike products as Lincolnshire Police tackle increasing burglaries.

A series of security events from August 11 to August 16 are being hosted by officers from Neighbourhood Policing Teams to promote security awareness.

Police say cycle crime in the county is on the increase with a number of high-value bikes being stolen as a result of burglaries.

Members of the public attending the advice events will be able to buy Secured by Design (SBD) products through exclusive discounted deals.

The following events will be taking place:

  • Monday, August 11: 11am to 3pm – Asda, Newark Road, North Hykeham
  • Tuesday, August 12: 11am to 3pm – Sainsburys, Tritton Road
  • Wednesday, August 13: 11am to 3pm – Birchwood Shopping Centre
  • Thursday, August 14: 11am to 3pm – The Forum, Newark Road, North Hykeham
  • Friday, August 15: 11am to 3pm – The Showroom, Tritton Road
  • Saturday, August 16: 11am to 3pm – Valentine Retail Park (Next to TK Maxx), Tritton Road
