Lincoln Christmas Market 2014 – Day 1

In pictures: The 32nd Lincoln Christmas Market opened on Thursday, December 4 with hundreds of stalls and activities.

Hundreds of traditional Christmas market stalls, festive entertainment and mouthwatering food returned to historic uphill Lincoln on Thursday, December 4 for the 32nd annual Lincoln Christmas Market.

Visitors to the popular event can browse the new market layout, get plenty of handcrafted gift ideas and the chance to meet Santa Claus.

The market, which runs until Sunday, December 7, also includes a traditional fun fair and ferris wheel with fantastic views of the city.

In order to officially open the Christmas Market the Mayor of Lincoln Councillor Brent Charlesworth will address crowd from the front of Lincoln Cathedral at 6.30pm – followed by a traditional blessing by the Dean of Lincoln Cathedral.

There are a number of extra travel services and a park and ride option in place during the Christmas Market weekend.
