Video: Take a tour of the new-look Lincoln Castle

Inside look: Woodhead Heritage have produced an inside look at their work on the £22 million Lincoln Castle restoration project.

After years of work to bring Lincoln Castle back to its former glory, only four days remain until the Medieval gates are lifted, revealing a £22 million makeover.

Robert Woodhead Heritage, alongside Lincolnshire County Council and architects Arroll & Snell, are adding the finishing touches to the regeneration project.

Offering a latest sneak peek over the walls before the castle opens on April 1, the heritage construction company have produced a video of the work as they count down.

Tourism Development Manager at Lincolnshire County Council, Mary Powell, said: “We’ve repaired the full circuit of the Medieval wall, produced a walkway so people can walk all the way round, restored the prison and we’ve built the Magna Carta vault.”

Woodhead Heritage also invited The Lincolnite for a behind-the-scenes tour of the grounds with weeks to go. Rewind to the gallery and video here.
