Council leader Martin Hill said: “We’re very proud of the fantastic achievements of the women’s hockey team, who showed great team spirit and a dogged refusal to be beaten.

“We would love to celebrate the four Lincolnshire players with an event where they can share their achievements with the public,” he said.

He will be talking to colleagues in the districts to find a suitable location and to see if all players are available to come back and celebrate at the same time.

Lincolnshire residents were also very happy with the success of the team.
