An elderly woman has suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash near Caistor at the weekend.

As previously reported, the crash occurred at Fonaby Top, off the A1173.

Five people were injured in the collision between a white Ford Focus and an orange Kia Sportage.

One woman, 73, who is from North Lincolnshire, sustained serious injuries and is at Hull Royal Infirmary.

Three casualties received serious injuries and one minor – three were taken to Hull Infirmary, one to Grimsby Hospital and one person was able to attend a hospital without assistance.

Ewan Gell, Senior Investigating Officer at Lincolnshire Police, said: “We are still investigating this incident and we need anyone who hasn’t yet come forward to get in touch.

“If you were at this location at 4pm and saw either the white Ford travelling towards Caistor from the direction of Humberside Airport, or the orange Kia heading towards Brocklesbury, please call us on 101 quoting incident number 276 of August 21.”
