One of Scunthorpe’s ‘most wanted’ suspected criminals who evaded capture for over seven months has been arrested by police after a tip-off from an eagle-eyed resident.

The 28-year-old man was wanted for numerous offences including breach of a court order, criminal damage, threats to kill, perverting the course of justice, rioting, two counts of threatening behaviour, vehicle interference and disqualified driving.

Police had drawn blanks in their efforts to find the man until an observant member of the public rang the force claiming to have seen a person matching the description provided.

Officers then forced entry to the property at 11am on Sunday, September 3, and arrested him.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “It goes without saying without this important phone call this morning, this man would still be at large.

“He will remain in police custody answering questions in relation to all of the above offences.

“A huge thank you goes out to all the people who phone us with information and intelligence. We cannot do our job without you.”
