A man is understood to have been stabbed in the leg during an assault in Horncastle overnight.

Police were called to Church Lane at 7.15pm on Thursday, April 13 following reports of a disturbance.

Two men were injured, one of whom was taken to hospital with a stab wound. Police say his injuries are not life threatening.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He remains in custody at the time of writing.

Church Lane in Horncastle is closed to traffic and has been taped off by police while investigations continue.

Officers are patrolling the area on the morning of Friday, April 14 and reassuring members of the community.

A police spokesperson said: “We would appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident in Church Lane last night or who has information that will help with our investigation to contact 101 quoting incident 424 of April 13.”
