Police are investigating after a woman was attacked by dogs in the Waterside South area of Lincoln, leaving her with head injuries.

The attack happened on a cycle path in Black Bridge on March 25. Police say the victim had sat on a bench with her dog when a group of five men walked towards her on a footpath.

A force spokesperson said: “One of the men had two black and white American-type bulldogs who got free from their leads when they spotted the victim’s animal.

“She shielded her pet but the dogs had bitten down on her head. Three of the men ran to assist the woman and pulled the dogs from her.

“The remaining two ran from the scene. An ambulance was called for the woman who later required nine stitches.”
