Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a fraud investigation where £4,000 was stolen from a woman in Lincoln.

On April 6, a member of the public was contacted by someone claiming to be from the debt department at BT and was asked to pay an outstanding phone bill.

The victim agreed to pay by cheque but was then called back and informed a ‘member of staff’ needed to collect his bank card.

Police would like to speak to this man in relation to the investigation

This was later used to withdraw £4,000 from Lloyds Bank in Lincoln.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We want to identify the man pictured as we believe he may be able to help our inquires.

“If you recognise him please call 101. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
